Edoardo Miroglio winery is in the prestigious “Cucina e Vini” magazine

in January 2017

With great pleasure we share with you the article in the prestigious Italian magazine “Cucina e Vini” from January 2017 for Edoardo Miroglio winery in Elenovo village. The reason behind the article is the press trip from June 2016. The magazine describes the business of the owner Mr. Edoardo Miroglio in Bulgaria and Italy. The story flows through buying fertile land in Elenovo village in the Thracian valley in 1998, the boutique hotel Soli Invicto with its restaurant which are over the ground leaving below the winery premises, the market debut of the first wines in 2005 and the grapes which are grown – pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, syrah, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, gewurtztraminer, viognier, muscat ottonel, mavrud, melnik, rubin and bouquet.


During their visit the journalists acquainted with Mr. Alberto La Rosa and Mrs. Desislava Baycheva who are actually making the unique wines. The journalists look astonished to what the owner, Mr. Edoardo Miroglio tells: “Grape-growing and wine-making have been traditional for the region ever since Thracian times. Many ancient authors have praised the Thracian wine, and the recipe has been passed from father to son for generations... This is what I was inspired by! “ Also the certified bio grapes make an impression and that's where the BIO wines loved in Bulgaria and abroad come from. Bouquet, Rubin and Mavrud are just a small part among all BIO vines in the winery.


On the extremely suitable soil of Elenovo, over 220 hectares of vineyards of elite French and Bulgarian grape varieties have been planted. The annual production capacity of Edoardo Miroglio winery is approximately 1 million liters of wine. The production cycle covers all technological operations - from primary grape processing to wine bottling. The main equipment of Edoardo Miroglio winery has been supplied by leading Italian and French producers of wine making equipment and technology. The management and quality control of the production is performed by a state-of-the-art laboratory. The process of ageing and maturing takes place in high-quality French oak barrels, which are essential to the quality of the produced wines. Edoardo Miroglio winery is specialized in the production of quality white, rosé and red wines, as well as sparkling wine (Traditional Method) – white and rosé, rakia and liqueur. The major brands produced by the winery are: Elenovo (Reserves), Edoardo Miroglio (premium brand) and Bio. Elenovo and EM (Edoardo Miroglio) are mostly distributed in selected hotels and restaurants, as well as in specialized wine stores. As of 2013, Edoardo Miroglio winery obtained certification for organic vineyards (Bouquet, Gewurztraminer, Viognier, Mavrud and Rubin) and started producing 3 new organic wines - Bouquet Nouveau, Viognier x Traminer and Mavrud x Viognier.


Edoardo Miroglio winery is chosen for the prestigious price “The Winery of the Year” 2015 in Bulgaria.


The journalists tasted the following wines: Zero Brut 2009, Blanc de Blanc Brut 2011, Brut 2008, Rose Brut 2011, EM Muscat Ottonel 2015, Bio Viognier & Traminer 2015, Pinot Noir Reserve 2012 and Elenovo Mavrud 2012.
