Edoardo Miroglio wine-cellar is located in
the region of Elenovo village – about 15 km
from the city of Nova Zagora. The cellar is
surrounded by vineyards, a natural lake, and
green meadows, which create favourable
conditions for wine tourism. Company own
production of fruits and vegetables
complements the exotic garden of roses and
vines!
Dating back to the Thracian times, the only
trade in the region has been vines and
wines, the recipes of which have been passed
from father to son, generation after

So far, almost 22 M euro have been invested in Edoardo
Miroglio wine-cellar. The cellar released its first
production in October 2005. An 8-member team of Italian
specialists, headed by the worldwide recognized
oenologist, Mr Marco Monchiero, manages the whole
process. During 2004-2006, the total number of workers
engaged in the creation and cultivation of the vineyards
in the region of Elenovo village numbered 130. During
the harvest, over 200 people are employed. The second
phase of the project involves the building of a
luxurious hotel and a restaurant with a wine-tasting
room. According to the manager, Mr Georgi Balabanov, by
the end of 2007, after the opening of the hotel, another
30 permanent jobs will be created. The annual production
capacity of Miroglio Wine Cellar is approximately 1M
liters of wine. The production in 2005, made from
2004-2005 grapes, amounted to around 650’000 liters. In
2006 the output was 800 000 liters.
The production cycle at the cellar includes all
technological operations – from primary processing to
bottling. In the production of grapes and high quality
wines a grape combine unique for the Balkan Peninsula
and high-tech presses are used. The main equipment of
Edoardo Miroglio wine cellar was delivered by leading
Italian producers of winemaking equipment and
technology. The only exception is made by the widely
used in Europe vinification tanks “Rodina”, which are
made of stainless steel. Quality management and
production control are guaranteed by a state-of-the-art
laboratory and by our own meteorological station.
So far, on the extremely suitable soil of Elenovo, over
200 hectares of vineyards of elite French grape
varieties have been planted. Some of the varieties
cultivated by Edoardo Miroglio wine cellar are Cabernet
Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir,
Mavrud, Rubin, Melnik 55, Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel,
Traminer and Sauvignon Blanc. The cellar is equipped
with high quality French oak barrels, which are
essential for the aging and maturing of quality wines.
The wine cellar in Elenovo village has launched on the
market three major brands: Edoardo Miroglio, Sant’Ilia
and Saint Ilia Estate. Edoardo Miroglio brand is offered
exclusively to selected restaurants, hotels, and
specialized wine stores. Sant’Ilia and Saint Ilia Estate
brands are our commercial brands designated for the
domestic and export markets. In addition to the
Bulgarian wines, Edoardo Miroglio wine cellar also
offers the excellent Italian wines, produced by Tenuta
Carretta cellar, Piamonte Alba area, Italy, whose owner
is Edoardo Miroglio, as well. |
