Muscats du Monde 2010: Another Cherished and Well-deserved Recognition for Miroglio Wines

The 10th international competition of the world’s best Muscat wines, Muscats du Monde®, organised by Forum Œnologie, was held on July 1–2, 2010 in the city of Frontignan-la-Peyrade, found in the Languedoc-Roussillon region (France). Over the course of two days, international experts tasted 206 Muscats wines from all over the world. The 2010 awards list from Muscat du Monde® is an opportunity to discover the incomparable palette of aromas that Muscat wines can offer. Strict quality standards and optimal tasting conditions enabled international judges to award 69 medals that are recognised as a reliable criterion for selection.
EDOARDO MIROGLIO winery is proud to convey the news to its customers and Muscat lovers that Muscats du Monde 2010 has proved to be even more successful than the previous 2 years, bringing the winery a Gold Medal for Sant’Ilia Muscat Ottonel 2009 and a Silver Medal for the brand new product EM Muscat Ottonel 2009.
Following are the tasting notes of the Muscats du Monde judges for the two award-winning wines:
Sant’Ilia Muscat Ottonel 2009: Pale colour with green tinges. Fruity aromas (apricot, peach) dominate on the nose, with a floral touch. Full, fresh and well-balanced in the mouth. A hint of mineral, followed by lemon and melon flavours. Lovely finish and long aroma persistency.
EM Muscat Ottonel 2009: Pale yellow colour, clear and bright. Mineral notes appear first on the nose, followed by floral and fruity aromas.
Light and spritzy on the tongue, giving the wine some lively character. Round and balanced, with fruity notes that persist a long time.
